In other words, “I Am the Lizard Queen!” blog turned ten years old back in June — which makes my blog older than my kid.
Even though my blogging is sporadic — yup, these days it averages once a month — I keep going because I like writing. True, I’d prefer to write short stories and work on these two or three book ideas rattling around in my head. But teaching five classes of essay writing (plus one literature class to remind myself why I majored in English in the first place) per semester puts all long-form writing on the back burner.
Then, of course, all that “life” stuff gets my attention as well.
So this blog becomes the only real outlet for me doing sorta/kinda/maybe regular writing amid my crazy schedule. It’s been personal journal, online publication, social media sharing, and venue for venting.
It’s been WONDERFUL. And a large part of that wonderfulness has been you, my readers — that there are receptive folks out there, and I’m not just throwing out messages in bottles, thrown into an empty sea.
Thank you, my readers, for coming by and visiting for all of these years my little islet in this online ocean. Mille grazie!
