Daniel’s Snow Days

It began with me picking up Daniel early from his daycare, since my campus closed early on Thursday.  As I drove onto the daycare’s parking lot, I saw this snowman out front, and I knew this would be a great Snow Day:

Pirate-Beret Snowman, ARRRRR!

After a Pull-Ups change and a snack, we headed to the back yard:

"More snow?"

"Throw snow!"

Then — after a change of socks and sweatpants — we headed out front, where we built our first snowman of the season:

"My carrot!"

The next day, all of the campuses in the Dallas County Community College District got canceled due to the weather.  So, after his post-lunch nap, I got Daniel some boots (after his 4pm appointment to get his owie-on-his-finger stitch removed, as well as a long overdue H1N1 shot).  Then, it was back to the front lawn.  The snowman had melted a bit, leaned over, and fallen during the past evening and morning.  So we did the best we could, putting him back together.

He shrunk!

"Yay, snow!"

Today, the temperature was up in the mid-40s, so much of the snow was melting.  After his nap, Daniel tramped around a little bit in what bits of snow was left in the local park (as well as his usual hitting the swings and slides) — but I left my camera at home, so no pictures of that.

Anyways — I can confidently say that this was a successful round of Snow Days for one Mr. Daniel.  🙂

About lizardqueen

If single-mothering were a paid job, I'd be rich. However, it doesn't, so I write (which doesn't pay the bills) and teach (which does). I'm overly-educated in the liberal arts, but that doesn't hinder my ability to be pragmatic and realistic. YAY.
