Achtung, the Middle Class!

Start paying down that personal debt, ’cause y’all’s federal payroll and/or income taxes are about to shoot way up.

All I can say is this: I know plenty of my students who need this to happen, so I’m still on the fence on whether to hate it or appreciate it.  (Notice I didn’t say “like it”.)

About lizardqueen

If single-mothering were a paid job, I'd be rich. However, it doesn't, so I write (which doesn't pay the bills) and teach (which does). I'm overly-educated in the liberal arts, but that doesn't hinder my ability to be pragmatic and realistic. YAY.

According to the Hubby, if Sen. Joe Lieberman isn’t on board, then the bill is dead in the water.

So… we’ll just have to see if this “health insurance reform” thing is gonna happen or not.

Morally, I think it’s the right thing to do – but only if it’s implemented so that each individual’s moral choices (both patient and caregiver) are respected. The bill itself is not clear in this respect, and hopefully the Senate addresses the issue.

Economically it’s going to hurt businesses and investment – no doubt about it. The Brits are wealthy – and they still have problems. The French ( I lived there ) seemed to work fairly well, but the standard of care varies greatly (but the same could be said of the US).

I’d rather see care cost regulation, with a smaller government pool myself, but my letters to Obama and my congresscritters fell upon death ears apparently (LOL!).
