Elmo! Elmo! Elmo!

Daniel’s favorite furry monster is — surprise surprise — Elmo.

When he means “Sesame Street,” he says, “Elmo.”  But when he means “Elmo,” he also says, “Elmo.”     I tend to default to the latter when trawling the web for Elmo vids, since Elmo shows up on both Sesame Street, as well as his spin-off, Elmo’s World.

Tonight, Daniel has seen, SIX FREAKIN’ TIMES, this partial episode from Elmo’s World, which is all about jackets.  Not that I planned to have Daniel see this six times; he requested it, saying, “More?” as well as making the hand-signs for “more.”

Last night, it was Elmo, with Jack Black, which was all about the OCTAGON.  That one he wanted to see — oh — five times?  Six?

Let’s not forget Elmo’s Song and Elmo’s Ducks.  Both I’ve heard enough times that I’ve pretty much memorized the lyrics.  OH JOY.

Occasionally, we throw in Cookie Monster, although this one with Kermit and Cookie Monster is mostly for the Hubby and me than for Daniel.  “Arrivederci, Frog” — I just love that.  🙂

Until Daniel learns to enjoy the, um, subtler humour of Cookie Monster, he’s with Elmo.  Good thing the music isn’t insipid, like the songs of a certain local purple dinosaur we know.   YAY!

If single-mothering were a paid job, I'd be rich. However, it doesn't, so I write (which doesn't pay the bills) and teach (which does). I'm overly-educated in the liberal arts, but that doesn't hinder my ability to be pragmatic and realistic. YAY.

    Anita,

Oops — I only remember the lyrics when I’m seeing the video. When I’m not, the song pretty much leaves my brain (thank goodness!).

Once I have free time again, I’ll see the vid and write down the lyrics and get back to you.

    Cheers,
    LQ

    Hey,
Would you please e-mail me the lyrics of “Elmo’s Ducks” to me. I pretty much enjoy the song but how I wish that I could get the whole set of it. I am not very sure some of the wording.

    Please e-mail me to to.anitayang@gmail.com
I’ll be very appreciated for your kindness.

    Have a nice weekend.

Hey! Don’t knock Barney, I used to love Barney until I grew up and a grown man in a purple dinosaur costume began to kind of creep me out.

beats Spongbob Squarepants…My nephew was into him, and if he could have gotten away with it, he could’ve watched about 8 hrs straight of it if he worked it out on the sat. dish.

I do like the squirrel from Texas, though!

Ah, the Barney crowd! I remember the long-ago days of La Suprema, when Frank would recount having to serve drinks to those guys.

    Scary, indeed! 🙂

LOL, that’s just too cute. 😀

The older kids never got the whole sesame street experience – but the twins have really enjoyed Elmo.

The purple dino is *banned* at my house. I actually knew those guys – and they scared me in real life almost as much as they did on TV!
