Mother’s Day Weekend

This weekend was 1) a celebration of all things toddler, and 2) a celebration of aunties and grandparents doting on one particular toddler (that is, Daniel).

Here are pictures and video of the former (many thanks to little Anya’s parents for putting these up).  But I forgot to bring the digicam when we went over to my mom’s house for a Mother’s Day evening with my siblings and parents.  So no footage of Daniel’s attempts to say “frog”, which sounds so much like the f-word that he cracked up my entire family and my dad commented, “Ayyy, you’re talking like a sailor!”

I hope everyone’s Mother’s Day was lovely!

If single-mothering were a paid job, I'd be rich. However, it doesn't, so I write (which doesn't pay the bills) and teach (which does). I'm overly-educated in the liberal arts, but that doesn't hinder my ability to be pragmatic and realistic. YAY.

    Frog = f-word. Too funny.

    I remember when we took C to Empress of China and they had a giant fish tank. She pointed to the tank and yelled out. Only “fish” didn’t come out as fish, but a lot like the b-word. So, loud enough for the other diners, who were already looking over at us, I said, “yes honey, FISH.”
