“I choose love and here I am”

After a very rough weekend that reminded me of a poem I had written awhile back, I watched this year’s Oscars awards in order to see genuinely happy people.

And what A. R. Rahman said, in accepting the Best Song award for Slumdog Millionaire, reminded me of what’s important in this world:

The essence of the film is about optimism and hope. The power of hope in our lives. All my life I had the choice between hate and love. I choose love and here I am.

Must remember that.

About lizardqueen

If single-mothering were a paid job, I'd be rich. However, it doesn't, so I write (which doesn't pay the bills) and teach (which does). I'm overly-educated in the liberal arts, but that doesn't hinder my ability to be pragmatic and realistic. YAY.
