Just Reading in the Rocking Chair

Daniel and the Hubby Reading

Cant Play -- Reading

"Can't Play -- Reading"

The Hubby is reading Randy Pausch’s book The Last Lecture, which I picked up at the local Barnes and Noble while looking for What to Expect the Toddler Years.  Meanwhile Daniel is “reading” — feeling the heaviness and texture of the board book while looking at the pictures, that is — The Tale of Peter Rabbit, which Technogypsy’s wife gave as part of a book collection gift on Daniel’s birth.

I love that both the Hubby and Daniel are comfy in their respective rocking chairs, reading their respective books. 🙂

About lizardqueen

If single-mothering were a paid job, I'd be rich. However, it doesn't, so I write (which doesn't pay the bills) and teach (which does). I'm overly-educated in the liberal arts, but that doesn't hinder my ability to be pragmatic and realistic. YAY.

I’m so glad that he’ll be able to use his little rocking chair when he’s a full-fledged toddler.

Right now, he loves it so much, that when he’s sleepy he climbs into it and waits for me to secure him in his chair straps, turn on the “calming vibrations” switch — this thing actually has “magic fingers” — give him his pacifier and blankie, and rock him to sleep with my foot on the runners. It only takes a few minutes. 🙂
