On Faith

Her story’s better than anything I can say right now.

Faith is an attitude emphasized more in Christianity than in Buddhism, but it’s there in Buddhism too. Faith means faith in yourself, in the practice, in the ancestors, in the teaching. Faith means believing that everything is unfolding as it needs to unfold, and that your own life is part of that unfolding.

About lizardqueen

If single-mothering were a paid job, I'd be rich. However, it doesn't, so I write (which doesn't pay the bills) and teach (which does). I'm overly-educated in the liberal arts, but that doesn't hinder my ability to be pragmatic and realistic. YAY.

I’ve gotten responses likely similar to your “interesting conversations” on Ash Wednesday: “You have something on your forehead.” 🙂

  3. I’ve had some of my most interesting conversations with people of other faiths.

It’s interesting that I usually “find” people during lent – they’re curious why I’m fasting.
