I Can’t Believe Saturday’s Over

It’s 10pm, and I had just enough energy to grade one — just one — essay.

I’m so behind on grading — I have three classes’ essays and one class of journals to grade.  I need to have this weekend to catch up.  But this creeping crud-sick-green-crap-that-I-cough-up multiple times an hour that cough meds don’t even touch — it just saps my strength.

I craved napping — this is an illness that screams “GET SOME REST!”  And I tried, but not when Daniel needs attending to — feeding, diaper change, taking care of his fussiness/teething… so, deciding to expend what little strength I have to either 1) grading or 2) taking care of Daniel, of course the choice is obvious.

And so Daniel is finally asleep for the night.  And this one essay, that I’ve been trying to finish grading since this morning, is finally graded.   It’s only a two-page essay.

Two-pages.  All day to grade?  That’s just *sad.*

Oof.  Well, I have Sunday to catch up — at least grade my ENGL 1301 papers before I pick up the Hubby from the airport.  ::fingers crossed::

I think I’ll take my cold meds and go to bed.

If single-mothering were a paid job, I'd be rich. However, it doesn't, so I write (which doesn't pay the bills) and teach (which does). I'm overly-educated in the liberal arts, but that doesn't hinder my ability to be pragmatic and realistic. YAY.
