Why It Feels Like Home

My campus isn’t just another worksite, for various reasons — but the big one is this:

It is staunchly pro-military, in that strong “We support our troops” belief.

So this morning, when I got this in my work email, from the campus nurse in our health center who emailed it to the entire campus, it moved *this* military brat.

On a related note, one of our faculty, an auto-tech professor, finally came back, after serving 18 months in Iraq.  In our spring convocation last week, he got a standing ovation.

Yes, they are heroes.  All of them.

About lizardqueen

If single-mothering were a paid job, I'd be rich. However, it doesn't, so I write (which doesn't pay the bills) and teach (which does). I'm overly-educated in the liberal arts, but that doesn't hinder my ability to be pragmatic and realistic. YAY.
