Family, Food, and Football

The Traditional Trilogy of Thanksgiving at my folks’ place:

Family — my parents, my siblings and their significant others, my nephew, the Hubby, and Daniel

Food — traditional T-day food like turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy; but also Filipino fare like kare-kare, lumpia, pancit, and that weird thing with goat and tripe

Football — Dallas Cowboys 34, NY Jets 3.  Not so much that the ‘Boys were extraordinary but that the Jets’ offense sucked.  Much rejoicing in the Ramos household, especially my mom, whose squealing joyous yells whenever the Cowboys made a touchdown actually woke up Daniel

After the game, we saw a movie on Dish Network: Mr. Brooks.  I don’t usually go for Kevin Costner flicks, but my brother highly recommended it, so we saw it and were pleasantly surprised.  Very interesting anti-hero and premise.  It’s actually pretty good.  🙂

Now it’s time to get some zzzz’s before Daniel wakes up for his first late-night/early morning feeding.  And no way in *heck* will I be out and about tomorrow — I abjure thee, Black Friday!  Back, back, into the bowels of Hell that thee camest from!

About lizardqueen

If single-mothering were a paid job, I'd be rich. However, it doesn't, so I write (which doesn't pay the bills) and teach (which does). I'm overly-educated in the liberal arts, but that doesn't hinder my ability to be pragmatic and realistic. YAY.
