Three Things of SQUEEE, Part 2

1) “Wow, I learned something today.”

— said by a student yesterday (out loud, in class, no less!), after I went over the logic of documenting bibliographic material through MLA Style.  As a teacher, I live for those moments…

 2) 331 miles —

the mileage I had when I got another tank of gas for my Fit-Mobile.  And the needle on the gauge wasn’t even touching the “E” yet!  (Still ridiculously happy about that one.  What with Daniel on the way, cutting costs in one area in order to shift spending to another has become a big financial priority).

3) Finding lactose-free ice cream for the Hubby that actually *is* ice cream (not the soy or rice crap that’s passed off as “frozen dessert”).

We did a taste test yesterday evening , and Breyer’s Lactose-Free Vanilla won, hands down, with very little ill-effects on the Hubby.  Of course, I only checked the two local grocery stores, just a few blocks away.  I suspect I’ll need to make a run to Central Market in order to find other flavors (like chocolate) and brands.

If single-mothering were a paid job, I'd be rich. However, it doesn't, so I write (which doesn't pay the bills) and teach (which does). I'm overly-educated in the liberal arts, but that doesn't hinder my ability to be pragmatic and realistic. YAY.
