The Hubby and I headed over to my parents’ house yesterday. Always good food when we’re there; this time it was grilled beef ribs, a simple lettuce-tomato salad, green beans, and the ubiquitous steamed rice. My parents always have the TV on as background noise, and this time it was the “Mabuhay Channel”, i.e., the Filipino channel. I must say, I’ve never seen a Filipino midget until I saw one on this program, whose sole role was to run up to people and harass them.
That’s Filipino humour for you. 8)
After dinner, the Hubby and my Pa split a bottle of Dalwhinnie Scotch whiskey. And when I say split a bottle, I mean “split a bottle.” While my mom and I laid out on my parents gigantic sectional sofa, watching TV, the Hubby and my Pa drank and talked about Deep Things, like politics and relationships. Really good stuff.
The Hubby and I ended up crashing on said sofa — really, it’s *huge* and very very comfortable — staying overnight.
As I said to the Hubby as we returned to our home this morning, “I have really good parents, don’t I.”
“Yeah,” he replied. “Yeah, you do.”
