Weaving Yarn

As most of my regular readers know, one of my hobbies is textile arts. Crocheting, spinning wool into yarn and natural dying it, making felt — all of that stuff.

Boxing Alcibiades gave me lots of rug-quality wool yarn that he got as samples some time ago (I think it was last month). Taking a break from crocheting, I decided to take up weaving. Last week, with the help of the Marmot’s carpentry skills, I made myself a frame loom, and this weekend, after much trial and error, I’ve started weaving.

Here are some pics:

2) A close up of the business end of the loom

Should keep me busy, I think!

About lizardqueen

If single-mothering were a paid job, I'd be rich. However, it doesn't, so I write (which doesn't pay the bills) and teach (which does). I'm overly-educated in the liberal arts, but that doesn't hinder my ability to be pragmatic and realistic. YAY.
