I Gots Me Some Rolags

A little bit before my birthday, Boxing Alcibiades gave me a raw fleece that he didn’t want anymore, and, in an April 14 post, [ed.note: which got accidentally deleted!] I wrote that I washed the thing and started carding it.

Three months later, I finally carded the thing (even with having been washed, it still had plant matter stuck throughout it), and now I got a laundry mesh bag stuffed to the top with rolags — clean, carded tubes of wool.

Whew. It helps to be obsessive-compulsive about it — which I am, when I’m not working at my job or working on my dissertation. Heh.

Next step, I think: felting some of this and see what I get.

If single-mothering were a paid job, I'd be rich. However, it doesn't, so I write (which doesn't pay the bills) and teach (which does). I'm overly-educated in the liberal arts, but that doesn't hinder my ability to be pragmatic and realistic. YAY.
