Yesterday, I emailed an old college acquaintance, asking if he was interested in being a guest lecturer at this October literary event that I’m planning and organizing at the college I work at. Today I received his reply — no go, not because he’s not interested but because he’ll be out of town on the day of the program. He’s still very much engaged in the sci-fi/ fantasy publishing world, and he even informed me that he had a book — The Darkling Band – published last year.
Curious, I googled him, and one of the top hits was a link to his Wikipedia entry. Well. Nothing quite says one has “arrived” — in all of that word’s various connotations — like an entry on one’s self in Wikipedia.
I haven’t read any of his later books. But I do have his first two books: The Iron Thane and The Spawn of Loki.
Jason Henderson — ask for him by name.
And of course… it’s WRONG!
He lives in Grapevine…. sheesh!

CD: Yup, it needs to be updated, since (as far as my poor memory serves me), Jason et familia haven’t been in Austin since late 2006/ early 2007.
